Dear Business Owner,
July, 08. I am currently recruiting two new members one
on one, there are no special informational events
occurring at this time.
Two Boards had two owners "graduate" , we
helped them sell their businesses in July, so they are
no longer eligible for TAB. I have two seats available. Walt
Many business experts strongly recommend that business
owners of all sizes form an advisory Board of Directors.
The information exchanged between you and your peers can
be very beneficial in growing, maintaining and eventually
selling your business while eliminating the frustration of
trying to get your business to the next level.
After all, how many business owners do you know that will
admit that they know everything there is to know about
running a business? Even the brightest, the most
successful, the best, certainly do not make this claim.
The Alternative Board (TAB) will give you access on a
monthly basis to other experienced executives in
non-competing businesses who have different skills and
backgrounds from your own. Each Board member shares his or
her expertise with you in exchange for being able to tap
into your business experience in a confidential
“think-tank” Board of Directors environment.
Come and find out why The Wall Street Journal call TAB “The
low cost source of outside business expertise for the
business owner.”
I would like to invite you to join me - as well as a group
of your peers - for a 90 minute working lunch to discuss
and demonstrate the TAB process. The lunch is
complementary and there is no cost or obligation to
attend. We will finish on time if not early.
Sincerely,

Walter L. Brown III

QUICK TIPS FROM OUR MEMBERS
|
 |
 |
Why do we market?
“No”, We market so we can
say “No”.
Context: A Managing Partner of a
Raleigh law firm was presenting his marketing plans to
his board to get their feed back... The question came
up, “... why are you marketing...?”
The discussion went around, “... you are trying to
attract good new clients, you are always recruiting
good new attorneys... all the standard clichés, etc.
etc.”
The Tip: From one members comes the
idea/insight; “Doesn’t one really market so we have
the opportunity to say “No”... wouldn't the best
marketing goal be one where you have enough steady
flow to pick and choose your profitable
opportunities...”
